Playa del Duque

The most polished beach on the island.

The editor's take

Playa del Duque is Tenerife at its most glamorous: a 700-metre crescent of imported golden sand framed by palm trees, designer beach clubs and the Bahía del Duque resort. The bay shelves gently into glassy turquoise water, and a lifeguard service operates daily until sunset. Mornings bring a hush broken only by paddleboarders gliding past; afternoons fill with elegantly dressed sun-seekers ordering rosé from cabana service. Even in high season the white parasols and well-spaced loungers preserve a quiet, country-club rhythm. The boardwalk behind connects to fashionable restaurants and boutiques, making this the easiest base for a luxury beach day in the south.

Insider Tip

Reserve a Bahía del Duque day-pass for spa access plus the best loungers.

Frame palm shadows on the sand from the eastern promenade at golden hour.
